January 19, 2020 – Post 12196 officially chartered.
May 6, 2020 – Organized a community drive-by parade for WW II veteran Alex Moskowitz.
August 14, 2020 – Organized a community drive-by parade for WW II veteran Paul Phillips.
September 2, 2020 – Post member Paul Phillips, a WWII, Korea and Vietnam veteran, represented the Post during President Trump’s visit to Wilmington to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II, and declare Wilmington the First World War II Heritage City.
September 11, 2020 – Organized a Patriot Day Ceremony – A National Day of Service and Remembrance.
September 17, 2020 – Held a “Welcome Home!” breakfast at Blossoms Restaurant in Magnolia Greens for Army Lt Dominick Calderone III who returned home following an 18-month tour in the Middle East.
September 18, 2020 – In honor of service members who were Prisoners of War (POW) and those who are still Missing in Action (MIA), we set up a table in Blossoms Restaurant, Magnolia Greens, to commemorate National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
November 11, 2020 – We were the lead organizer and host for a Veterans Day Celebration with featured speaker General, U.S. Army (Ret), Dan Allyn.
November 26, 2020 – Donated six meals to provide a Thanksgiving Day dinner to needy area families.
December 17, 2020 – Leland Mayor Brenda Bozeman declared Post 12196 as “Leland Citizen of the Year.”
December 25, 2020 – Donated five meals to provide a Christmas Day dinner to needy area families.
January 23, 2021 – Post members served as pall bearers at the funeral for WW II veteran Paul Phillips.
March 29, 2021 – Will host a National Vietnam Veterans Day commemoration event.
