The Leland VFW Post 12196 will be hosting a National Vietnam War Veterans Day on Mar. 29, 2022 at 5 pm. The event will be held at Founder’s Park in Leland (113 Town Hall Dr, Leland, NC 28451). 49th Anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam Peace Accord

Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, marks the 49th Anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam Peace Accord, which effectively ended the U.S. participation in the war.   A total of 9,097,000 military personnel served on active duty during the Vietnam era, with over 2,709,000 Americans serving in Vietnam, about 9.7% of the generation. There are 58,281 who never made it home.
