Vietnam War Era Veterans Commemoration

  The Leland VFW Post 12196 will host National Vietnam War Veterans Day on Mar. 29, 2023, at 5 PM, at the LELAND CULTURAL ARTS CENTER, 1212 MAGNOLIA VILLAGE WAY, LELAND, NC 28451. We will hold our annual February Can Drive on Feb. 18 at Founders Park in Leland. Beginning Feb. 6, you can drop off your donations at Fuzzy Peach in Leland or at the Office of Deb Pickett-Financial Advisor for Edward Jones. Winter-Spring Agenda for Post 12196

The Post meets the second Tuesday of each month at Blossoms Restaurant. We have dinner at 5:30, and the meeting starts at 7 pm. Our Tuesday morning “Veterans Coffee” is going well. We are changing locations to the new Exxon on Lanvale Road, across from the Kicking Mule. (intersection of HWY 74 and Lanvale Road) We meet at 9 am. Coat Drive

Post 12196, with the help of Deb Pickett-Financial Advisor for Edward Jones and Fuzzy Peach of Leland, pulled off another very successful coat drive to assist Brunswick Family Assistance. Many thanks also to Comrade Warren Beard for taking the lead on the project.

POW/MIA Recognition Day is observed on the third Friday of September, on September 16 this year, to recommit to full accountability to the families of the more than 80,000 veterans captured or still missing from wars that the United States has participated in.
